Homebrew Wrestling 4.0 has been released to public….
“I’m pleased to announce the release of my indie game, Homebrew Wrestling – Version 4.0
I have used TGE to create this game. It’s been almost a year since I first switched engines and began to develop this version of the game. My goal is purely educational. That’s why I have decided to give the game and all of the code (TorqueScript) away for fee.
The game itself contains several match types:
- one-on-one
- inferno
- battle royal
- rumble
- triple threat
- elimination
- cage
- tag team
- 6-man tag team
- elimination tag team
It also contains a create-a-wrestler so people can create their own in-game superstars as well as customizable rings.
I’m pretty pleased with the way it turned out. What’s next for me? Well I’m moving on to XNA. My goal is to use this as a testing facility for gameplay. Once I have a good game play engine (which I think I do), I’m going to create a wrestling game for XNA using TorqueX. Although I’m not starting off with that. First I’m creating a simple (yet original I think) side-scrolling shooter game. That way I can go through the process of creating and submitting a game in the xbox indie games section once before moving on to the big one.
I’m getting ready to submit it probably this week or next. I’ll blog on its release, but the name of the game is Vega Magnitude.
Also, I need to have garagegames get caught up with documentation. I was forced to switch to TX2D. But I don’t want to create my wrestling game in 2D, so hopefully documentation and tutorials are available soon, because as easy and intuitive as TX2D is, TX3D is incredibly lacking to the point (for me at least) of being un-usable.
With that said, please enjoy my free game as well as the first free wrestler pack.”
